How much does it cost to make a website in Nigeria?
Explore published website price examples in Nigeria, the work behind a quote and the ongoing costs to budget for before you build.

A business website can cost a few hundred thousand naira, while a more complex online store or customer platform can require a budget in the millions. The useful number depends on what customers need to do on the website and what your team needs to manage behind it.
A page introducing your business, a store that accepts payments and a portal where customers manage their accounts involve different amounts of work. To understand a quote, start with those requirements.
What do published website prices look like?
Here are selected advertised prices from Nigerian providers, checked on 11 October 2026:
| Website type | Published price examples | What to clarify in your quote |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page | Tekora advertises a starting price of ₦250,000 | Design, copy, enquiry form and tracking |
| Business website | Web Design Nigeria lists a five-page package at ₦250,000; Tekora advertises business websites from ₦500,000 | Page layouts, content, editing tools and support |
| Online store | Web Design Nigeria lists its starter store at ₦350,000; Tekora advertises ecommerce websites from ₦850,000 | Product setup, payments, delivery rules and order management |
| Custom web application | Tekora advertises a starting price of ₦1.5 million | Accounts, permissions, business workflows and integrations |
These figures come from Web Design Nigeria’s pricing page and Tekora’s published prices. Each figure relates to that supplier’s own package and scope. Use them as reference points, then compare the deliverables, exclusions and running costs in your proposal. Tacdigitals quotes projects according to their agreed requirements.
What are you paying for?
Planning and design
Before development begins, someone needs to organise the information, decide how visitors move through the pages and design the experience on phones and larger screens.
For a cleaning business, that might mean helping visitors understand the service area and request a quote. For a fashion store, it could mean making sizes, stock availability and delivery options clear before checkout. The design work follows the customer’s task.
An existing template can reduce the work required. A distinctive design with several different page layouts usually takes more time to plan and build.
Content
A website needs service descriptions, product information, images and useful answers to customers’ questions. Decide who will supply them.
If your team provides finished text and suitable photographs, the developer has less content work to do. Writing the pages, photographing products or organising a large catalogue adds work that should appear in the quote.
Features and connections
An enquiry form is a smaller job than a booking system that checks availability, collects payment, sends confirmations and lets staff change appointments.
Likewise, a shop may need refunds, inventory updates or different delivery charges by location. List the complete process you expect customers and staff to follow. That gives a developer something concrete to price and test.
Testing and handover
The finished website should be checked against its agreed requirements: can a visitor send an enquiry, complete an order or sign in successfully? Can the staff responsible for it update the right information?
Ask what testing, launch assistance and training are included. Also clarify how many design revisions the price covers and what happens when you request additional work.
Remember the cost of keeping the website running
The development fee is one part of the budget. Depending on the setup, you may also pay for:
- Domain renewal: keeping your chosen web address registered.
- Hosting or a platform subscription: running the website and storing its content.
- Business email and software: mailboxes, booking tools, paid extensions or other services.
- Maintenance: updates, backups, troubleshooting and agreed support.
- Transaction or usage charges: payment processing, messages, storage or services billed according to use.
Look at the amount due today and the renewal price. For example, Hostinger’s pricing page distinguishes introductory offers from renewal rates, specifies upfront plan payments and limits its included domain offer to the first year. Check the equivalent terms for whichever provider your project uses.
If a service is billed in dollars, the naira amount you pay can also change with your payment provider’s exchange rate and charges.
First-year budget = development + first-year subscriptions and renewals + agreed support + applicable extras.
For a simple arithmetic example, a ₦500,000 build, ₦30,000 domain fee, ₦60,000 hosting fee and ₦120,000 annual support plan would total ₦710,000. Those are illustrative figures; fill in your actual quotes and account for any additional charges before deciding.
Can you reduce the cost?
Start with the customer action that matters most. A consultant might initially need service information, evidence of previous work and an enquiry form. A retailer may need a functioning catalogue and checkout from the beginning.
Keep the essential work in the first release and price later features separately. Preparing your text and images, choosing a suitable existing design and giving one person responsibility for feedback can also make the project easier to deliver.
Building the site yourself can reduce the amount paid for outside labour. Include your own time in that comparison: you will still need to prepare content, configure the site, check that it works and maintain it.
Does the price include getting found on Google?
Ask whether the proposal covers the initial search setup, ongoing content work, or both. Helpful page titles, readable content and a sensible structure give a website a useful foundation.
Google’s SEO Starter Guide explains that improvements help search engines understand content, while their effect can take time. A completed website therefore needs a continuing plan for reaching its audience alongside the initial build.
How to get a useful quote
Give the developer a short brief covering your business, your customers, the main action visitors should take, essential features, available content, target launch date and budget.
Then ask for the build price, recurring costs, included support, handover arrangements and the price of additional work. Compare proposals against that same brief so you can see what each one actually delivers.
Frequently asked questions about website costs in Nigeria
How much does a five-page business website cost in Nigeria?
Web Design Nigeria advertises a five-page package at ₦250,000, while Tekora advertises business websites from ₦500,000. These are supplier-specific examples checked on 11 October 2026. Your quote should state the pages, design, content, features and support included, plus recurring costs.
Do you pay for a website once or every year?

What should a website development quote include?
Ask for the agreed pages and features, content responsibilities, design revisions, testing, launch, staff training and handover. The quote should also explain ownership of the domain and website, recurring fees, included support and how additional work will be priced.
